Ramadan During Lockdown: French Mosques to Remain Closed, Tarawih Prayers Suspended

President Emmanuel Macron stated that the gradual deconfinement could be possible on May 11. Implicitly, there will be no Tarawih prayers this year, as mosques will remain closed.
This deconfinement is conditional. "This Monday, May 11 will only be possible if we continue to be civic-minded, responsible, respect the rules and if the spread of the virus has indeed continued to slow down," affirmed Emmanuel Macron.
This date will coincide with the third week of fasting; which means that mosques will remain closed. Consequently, Muslims will not be able to gather for Tarawih prayers. However, they can pray at home.
The Eid prayer could be canceled, as Emmanuel Macron stated that "events and large festivals, with large audiences, will not be able to be held at least until mid-July."
