PSG's Mbappé Tops Global Player Value List; Morocco's Hakimi Ranks 40th at €79 Million

According to the latest ranking of the CIES Football Observatory, Achraf Hakimi is the most expensive Moroccan player in the world. Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappé, on the other hand, retains his first place.

Achraf Hakimi, the Borussia Dortmund full-back, with an estimated value of 79 million euros, is ranked 40th in the ranking of the most expensive players in the world, ahead of Robert Lewandowski and Son Heung-Min, both valued at 75.6 million euros.

French striker Kylian Mbappé retains his first place in this ranking, ahead of Raheem Sterling (194.7 M€) of Manchester City, Jadon Sancho (179.1 M€) of Borussia Dortmund, and Trent Alexander Arnold (171.1 M€) of Liverpool. They are followed by three stars from the Premier League: Marcus Rashford (152.3 M€), Mohammed Salah (144.9 M€) and Sadio Mané (139.2 M€).

According to the CIES study, Kylian Mbappe’s value is estimated at 259.2 million euros, nearly 80% more than the amount of his transfer from AS Monaco to PSG in 2017. In January 2020, it was 265 million euros, before dropping due to the halt in sports activity due to the coronavirus health crisis.

FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi, 33, is in 21st place (100.1 M€). His eternal rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, ranked 70th with a value of 62.8 M€, is the oldest player in the top 100.

For this ranking, the selection criteria are related to the players’ performance in their clubs and countries, age, position, league of employment and the economic level of the releasing club.
