PSG Coach Luis Enrique Seeks Right-Back Rival for Star Defender Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi is unanimously recognized as one of the best right-backs in the world. His offensive contribution, characterized by his top speed and his ability to outflank, is also a considerable asset for Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Luis Enrique wants to challenge the established hierarchy. The Spanish coach, in search of competition and multiple tactical solutions, plans to recruit a player capable of rivaling Hakimi for the right-back position, according to Sport.es.
This desire to strengthen the defensive sector is notably explained by the difficulties encountered by PSG in Hakimi’s absence, as evidenced by the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona. Deprived of its usual starter, the Parisian club showed defensive weaknesses and a lack of offensive punch on the right flank.
Luis Enrique and Luis Campos, PSG’s sporting director, are therefore active on the transfer market to find a player capable of competing with Hakimi and stimulating his performance. According to some sources, Lutsharel Geertruida, a young Dutch defender, would be at the top of the list of potential recruits.
The Moroccan international, accustomed to an undisputed starting role, would be faced with increased competition, forcing him to redouble his efforts to maintain his place.
