Police Officers of North African Descent Face Racist Slurs During Routine Call in France

Romanian nationals were arrested in Drancy. They are said to have made racist remarks against police officers intervening in front of their house for a simple noise disturbance check.
The two police officers from the Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis) police station, a man and a woman, one of Maghrebi origin, were insulted as "fake cops" and beaten, reports Le Parisien. This event comes at a time when police violence and racism in the police are being denounced around the world. According to a source close to the investigation, these are facts considered "unfortunately quite common".
According to the same media, the male police officer of Maghrebi origin was insulted as a "bougnoule" and a fake cop after presenting his professional card twice. Worse, he would also have received a spit on the skull while he was in front of the locked gate of the house.
During their arrest, the defendants struck the police officer in the face and tore his pants. He would also have been taken by the collar by another man. As for the female police officer, she was beaten in the face by two Romanian women.
