Moroccan Sahara’s Erg Chebbi Ranks Among World’s Most Beautiful Places

The Erg Chebbi, "the most evocative expanse of sand one can imagine," according to Time Out traveler Jeremy Flint who recommends it, comes in third place in this Top 30 list. Leading this ranking is the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, followed by Iceland, second, considered the "land of fire and ice" due to the existence of volcanoes and glaciers.

After this top three, we find Mont Saint-Michel in France, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, Ella in Sri Lanka, the Highlands in Scotland, the Zhangye National Geopark in China, Storms River in South Africa and the New Forest in England.

The eleventh place in the ranking is occupied by Paradise Bay in Antarctica, followed by the Highlands in Bolivia, Hoi An in Vietnam, Milford Sound in New Zealand, Jaipur in India, Hormuz Island in Iran, Puglia in Italy, Victoria Falls in Africa, Kinkaku-ji in Japan and South Water Caye in Belize.

The last ten beautiful places on the list are the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia, Big Sur in the United States, Maria Island National Park in Tasmania, the Registan in Uzbekistan, Choquequirao in Peru, Lord Howe Island in Australia, the Red Rocks Amphitheater in the United States, the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina, Savannah in the United States and Lapland in Finland.
