Pioneering Moroccan Media Mogul Pierre Casalta Dies at 85

The founder and former director of Radio Méditerranée Internationale "Medi1Radio" and the channel "Médi1TV", Pierre Casalta, died on Monday in France, following an illness.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Medi1TV channel on its Twitter account. At the age of 85, Pierre Casalta contributed to the enrichment and development of the Moroccan media landscape.
Originally from Corsica, Casalta founded in 1980 "Radio Méditerranée Internationale" (Medi1 Radio). A radio adopted by millions of listeners in the Maghreb, who followed the news in continuous French and Arabic.
In 2006, he launched "Medi1Sat", the general information television channel, which will later become "Medi1TV".
In 2010, Casalta left the management of the group, after having practiced his profession as a journalist for decades.
