Paris Struggles to Aid Moroccan Street Children Amid Rising Crime Concerns

The Protestant Social Action Center (Casp) to the rescue of unaccompanied minors in Paris. These children, mostly Moroccans, are accused of repeated assaults and thefts, they who have made the Goutte d’Or, a working-class district in the north of Paris, their lodging and meeting place.
The phenomenon has existed since 2016 and is shared by other cities in France, such as Bordeaux or Rennes, cites Franceinfo, adding that it resists all attempts by the authorities to stem it. Concerned, the Protestant Social Action Center (Casp) picks them up and tries to create a link, by offering them shelter and board. Young people who bear the stigma of the street, their gait is heavy and because of fatigue, their faces are marked, confides one of the mediators of this night shelter to the same source, a case before his eyes: "He has a bruise on his face, he said it’s the street. He fought. They’re all damaged."
A day’s routine: it is essentially made up of thefts, admits one of them, "He said their thefts are not directed at people, at assaults. If they steal, at least him, it’s rather shoplifting." specifies the educator at Casp. Why have they chosen France? "Because in France, there are rights," replies one of them. And what solution?
For the La République en Marche deputy of Ille-et-Vilaine, Florian Bachelier, it is to work directly with Morocco: "This is the discussion that the President of the Republic had had with the King of Morocco at the time, which has been relaunched to create accommodation centers on site, care and education centers." And this is precisely the purpose of an upcoming trip by Gérald Darmanin. The Minister of the Interior is going to Morocco on October 15, announces the same source.
