Paris Bolsters Security for World Cup Quarterfinals as Morocco, France Advance

A few hours before the kick-off of the matches between Morocco and Portugal, France and England in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the police prefecture is putting in place a security and traffic system in Paris to avoid any disturbances.
The police headquarters wants to prevent any disturbances, especially in the Champs-Élysées area, the usual gathering place for supporters of the Blues, at the end of the matches between Morocco and Portugal and France and England, scheduled for this Saturday at 4pm and 8pm respectively. Thus, it announced in a press release the implementation of a public order and anti-crime device, to ensure the safety of property and people in Paris, in the inner suburbs, and in public transport. In total, "1,220 police and gendarmes" will be mobilized from 4pm on the Champs-Élysées avenue, it is specified.
