Paris Attacks Terrorist Salah Abdeslam Moved to Belgian Prison for Brussels Bombing Trial

Sentenced to life imprisonment in France for his role in the November 13, 2015 attacks in Paris, Salah Abdeslam has been transferred from France and incarcerated in the Ittre prison in Belgium, and will have to be tried for his involvement in the Brussels attacks.
This other trial is scheduled for September in Evere. Salah Abdeslam was taken out of the Fleury-Mérogis prison in France on Wednesday morning, between 8:00 and 8:30 am by members of the Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN), then taken to an airport for Belgium.
Incarcerated in the Ittre prison, Salah Abdeslam will be transferred to another location kept secret, the Prison Administration said on Wednesday morning. "We do not provide information on individual cases," said spokeswoman Kathleen Van De Vijver.
As for Mohamed Abrini, also convicted in the same way as Salah Abdeslam in the trial of the Paris attacks, he arrived on Tuesday in Belgium to answer the charges against him in the context of the trial of the March 22, 2016 attacks, which killed 32 people, confirmed his lawyer, Me Stanislas Eskenazi. Oussama Atar, the alleged mastermind of the November 13 attacks, will also be tried in Brussels by default, as he is presumed dead in Syria.
