The outburst of sektioui against the prejudice of European expertise
After a victorious but complicated start due to absences, the Moroccan national team is approaching its duel against Oman as a final. Tarik Sektioui aims for an immediate qualification for the second round of the Arab Cup, refusing any accounting management despite a still-adjusting squad.
The national coach has defined the stakes of this match scheduled for this Friday at 3:30 pm in Qatar. Far from considering this appointment as a simple group match, he approaches it with the requirement of a "last chance". The objective is to secure the three points to validate the ticket for the rest of the competition. Sektioui recalled that the result will depend on tactical discipline and commitment on the field, and not on the status of the players.
The management of the group remains the main challenge for the technical staff. The coach returned to the difficulties encountered on the first day, revealing that he had been deprived of ten players for various reasons ranging from injury to fatigue. Key players were missing or were preserved. Sektioui admitted that these constraints had weighed on the management of the match, while congratulating himself on having ensured the victory.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the technician took advantage of his platform to defend the credibility of Arab and African coaches. He welcomed the national football development strategy initiated by King Mohammed VI and the President of the Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa. Stating that the national framework has proven its global value, he called for a change in mentalities and to get rid of the "colonialism" that persists in the minds regarding local competence compared to European expertise.
