Four offenders, of Moroccan and Algerian origin, were sentenced to up to four years in prison in Paris for the theft of a watch estimated at one million dollars. This loot was snatched from an American tourist on New Year’s Eve.

The Paris Criminal Court sentenced these international specialists in snatch-and-grab theft, aged 32 to 37, to sentences accompanied by fines of 5,000 euros. They were on trial for this violent assault committed on January 1, 2024 near the Champ-de-Mars.

After spotting their target at midnight near the Pullman hotel, the criminals waited all night. When he left, the customer was surprised by two strangers who stole his Jacob & Co Bugatti Chiron, a unique model set with diamonds.

As indicated by Le Parisien, the duo fled by car through the deserted streets of the capital, heading towards Luxembourg and then Belgium. The investigation led to the arrest of three of the suspects in the Paris suburbs, while a fourth is still actively being sought.
