Muslim Leaders: COVID-19 Vaccination Compatible with Ramadan Fasting

The Executive of Muslims of Belgium (EMB) has announced that fasting does not prevent vaccination against Covid-19. It therefore invites them to go to the centers to contribute to the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
In a message addressed to Muslims on the occasion of this holy month of Ramadan, the coordinating body recalls that vaccination is a medical injection, and that it is not contrary to religious precepts. "Fasting remains valid," confirms the EMB, which has launched a large communication campaign to inform as many members of the Muslim community as possible, reports bx1.
For Nourredine Smaili, president of the EMB, there may be some reasons to postpone vaccination but given the stakes, it is better to do it and play one’s part in the fight against the pandemic.
Omer Skier is a pharmacist. He supports the EMB’s decision and invites his peers to do the same. Posters in several languages have been produced to raise awareness among the faithful on the issue.
