Morocco’s Young Lions Gear Up for World Cup Clash with Spain
The Moroccan under-20 team will face their Spanish counterpart on Sunday, September 28, as part of the first day of the group stage of the World Cup in this category, which starts this Saturday in Chile.
The Atlas Lions are actively preparing for this match. On Friday, they held a training session of about an hour and a half on the pitch of the Chilean Football Federation, an opportunity for coach Mohamed Ouahbi to insist on the technical and tactical aspects and on the team’s cohesion.
The preparations for the debut of the Moroccan U20s in this World Cup are taking place in a good-natured atmosphere, said Mohamed Ouahbi, who emphasized the physical and mental preparation of the players and their adaptation to the climatic conditions.
"The atmosphere in training is good, and the temperatures are moderate. We continue to work on the players’ adaptation to the climate and the time difference, which is an essential part of the current preparation," he said on the official website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The match between the Moroccan and Spanish U20s will be played on the pitch of the Julio Martínez Prádanos National Stadium in Santiago, starting at 5 pm (local time), which is 9 pm (Moroccan time). The match will be broadcast on beIN Sports and FIFA+ channels.
