Morocco Women’s Team Faces Mali in Friendly Ahead of Africa Cup of Nations

After their victory against Botswana (3-1) last Friday, the players of the national women’s football team take the field again this Tuesday evening. At the Saniet Rmel stadium in Tétouan, they will face Mali for their second friendly match of this preparation stage for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
To recall, the Moroccans had dominated the Botswanans thanks to a brace from Ibtissam Jraïdi and a goal from Sarah Kassi. A performance that allowed Jorge Vilda’s protégées to gain confidence before facing a tougher Malian team.
The Spanish coach should take advantage of this match to give playing time to the players who did not participate in the first match. A rotation that will allow to test new combinations and to best prepare the group for the CAN.
During the match against Botswana, Ibtissam Jraïdi had opened the scoring in the 6th minute, well served by Sanaa Mssoudy. Despite a reaction from the Botswanans, the Moroccans maintained the pressure. Sarah Kassi doubled the lead in the 40th minute, before Ibtissam Jraïdi scored a brace just before half-time (45+1).
Upon returning from the locker room, the Botswana players reduced the gap, but the score remained the same. A victory that boosts the morale of Jorge Vilda’s troops, who are actively preparing for the 2024 Women’s CAN.
Morocco will play in Group A of the CAN, alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Zambia.
The match between the two teams is scheduled for this Tuesday at 6pm (Moroccan time). It will be broadcast live on the Moroccan channel Arryadia.
