Morocco Vaccinates Over 1 Million Cattle Against Foot-and-Mouth Disease in National Campaign

The National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA) has carried out the vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease of more than one million cattle, as part of the 2019 national booster vaccination campaign, until February 6.
Progressing "at a good pace" according to ONSSA, the cattle vaccination rate has reached 100% in the provinces of Laâyoune, Oujda and Boujdour. The vaccination continues in all regions of the Kingdom in order to cover the entire national cattle herd, it is indicated.
552 private veterinarians mandated in addition to the technicians and veterinarians of ONSSA ensure the vaccination operation, according to a press release.
Livestock farmers benefit free of charge from the vaccination of their cattle, with the office fully covering the acquisition of vaccines and the fees of private veterinarians.
