Morocco Unveils Plan to Transform Casablanca into Major Tourist Destination

The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) wants to make Casablanca a top tourist destination. In this context, new guidelines have been presented to tourism stakeholders to revive tourism in the large metropolis.
The ONMT intends to seduce tourism stakeholders by presenting the city’s tourism potential, including entertainment, shopping, culture, wellness, golf and medical tourism, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc. To succeed in this challenge, the office hopes to bet on a new model with an aggressive marketing strategy and position Casablanca as an important brand.
At the agency level, the office plans to strengthen the city’s programming and the development of intra-regional tourism for domestic tourism, with offers all year round. Internationally, the ONMT intends to favor tour operator programming focused on city breaks, golf, wellness, and proximity to several seaside resorts. The office also places a point of honor on Bouznika, El Jadida and Oualidia.
According to the same daily, no roadmap is yet available. However, the comments and suggestions of the major tourism operators in the economic capital should be included. As for the Greater Casablanca region, the office has planned a major innovation for international tourism, by betting on digital technology for maximum influence.
