Morocco Unveils New Annual Vehicle Tax Rates for 2024

Moroccans can already start paying the Annual Special Vehicle Tax (TSAV). What about the new features related to the payment of this tax?
The TSAV payment period runs from January 1 to January 31, 2024. Owners of diesel vehicles under 8 HP will have to pay 700 dirhams. A tax of 350 dirhams is set for diesel vehicles of 8 HP. Owners of diesel vehicles from 8 to 10 HP are required to pay a tax of 1,500 dirhams, while those using gasoline vehicles must pay 650 dirhams.
The TSAV is set at 6,000 dirhams for owners of diesel vehicles from 11 to 14 HP, 3,000 dirhams for those using gasoline. The price is set at 20,000 dirhams for diesel vehicles with a power greater than or equal to 15 HP and 8,000 dirhams for those using gasoline. It should be noted that late payment incurs penalties, with an initial surcharge of 15%, followed by an increase of 0.5% in the following months, and a minimum amount of 100 dirhams.
The novelty for 2024? The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) announced on December 20, 2023 the free online payment of the TSAV for users using the digital channels of partner banks and payment institutions of the DGI such as their bank’s ATMs, their bank’s website (e-banking), their bank’s mobile app (m-banking), online card payment, as well as mobile Wallet solutions.
