Morocco’s U17 Team Faces Mali in World Cup Quarter-Final Showdown

The Moroccan under-17 team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup in this category, after its victory over Iran in the round of 16 (1-1, p.s. 4-1). The Atlas Cubs will face Mali, a formidable opponent, on Saturday.
Like their elders at the Qatar 2022 World Cup who reached the semi-finals, the protégés of Saïd Chiba are aiming for the last four of the U17 World Cup, after having passed the round of 16 stage. "These young players deserve our sincerest congratulations. They have shown great maturity today, while at this age, it is difficult to stick to a game plan for a long time. We knew the match would be physically exhausting," said the Moroccan U17 coach after the victory over Iran.
The players approach Saturday’s match with serenity and the same fighting spirit. "We will start the match against Mali with the same state of mind. It is a different match, and it requires specific preparation. Hopefully the players will rest enough in the next three days," added Saïd Chiba.
