Morocco Travel Ban for Belgian Residents Set for Review on February 26

Moroccans residing in Belgium or Belgian-Moroccans will, in the coming days, have the possibility to travel to Morocco again. The ban on non-essential travel will be re-evaluated at the next Concertation Committee on February 26.
"Last week, when it was announced that the ministerial decree would be extended, it was also clearly stated that a new evaluation would take place at the next Concertation Committee on February 26. During this evaluation moment, the various rules will be examined and a decision will be made on whether to maintain them or not," confirmed Alexander De Croo, the Prime Minister. These statements follow the concern expressed by the European Commission about Belgium’s announcement of the extension of its ban on non-essential travel.
In response to a question from journalists, a spokesman for the European executive said that the European Commission was only informed on Thursday evening (February 11) of the Belgian government’s intention to extend the ban on non-essential travel from March 1 to April 1, a measure that raises "some concern" with it.
