Morocco to Streamline Driving License Equivalence Process for Expats

The difficulties encountered by Moroccans living abroad (MRE) in establishing the equivalence of driving licenses issued in Morocco are about to be resolved, it is sworn. The minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad, Nezha El Ouafi, has assured that she is working to solve the problem that is hampering the proper functioning of work in some consulates in Europe.
The end of the administrative burden in the Moroccan consulates in Europe was announced by the minister during an interview with the site Le360. The delay in the processing of administrative files had been noted by a parliamentary commission responsible for investigating in various consulates of the Kingdom abroad. The commission had noted in its report that the functioning of the consulates is generally satisfactory, but that improvements will be necessary in certain consular services dedicated to Moroccans of the world.
Thus, according to Nezha El Ouafi, "from now on, the consulates will provide online services in order to improve the reception conditions and avoid queues". For the issue of civil status and passport services, applicants are now invited to turn to computer platforms, via the consular portals.
Regarding Moroccans living abroad in France who are having difficulties in obtaining an equivalence to their Moroccan driving license, the minister reports regular contacts with the competent administrations in Morocco and France, in order to find a solution to this problem.
Nezha El Ouafi also mentioned during the interview the rather dense role played by Moroccan skills in the world in favor of the development of the kingdom. "These skills are active in Morocco in the fields of investment and vocational training. Recently, a convention has been signed to promote vocational training in certain Moroccan cities," she stressed.
