Morocco-Spain Tunnel Project Advances: New Studies Launched, Future Agreement Planned

The resumption of negotiations between Morocco and Spain on the tunnel to connect the two countries via the Strait of Gibraltar only concerns the study of the project. The actual realization of the infrastructure will be the subject of a new bilateral agreement, announced the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
The Hispano-Moroccan joint commission met on Monday to discuss this "fixed link of the Strait of Gibraltar" project, following the high-level meeting held in Rabat in February, during which the two countries agreed to relaunch the studies of the project. The meeting made it possible to validate the studies carried out since 2009 by the Spanish company in charge of the studies (Secegsa), and its Moroccan counterpart, the SNED, reports
