Morocco Sets February 29 Deadline for Property Income Tax Declaration

The filing of the declaration of property income subject to income tax (IR) and the payment of said tax must be done by February 29 at the latest, warned the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI).
Owners and usufructuaries of real estate assets with property income subject to income tax are invited to declare it and pay the tax by February 29, 2024, the DGI said in a statement.
The property income collected during the year 2023 is declared at the level of the "Annual declaration of global income" and those collected before January 1, 2023, at the level of the "Annual declaration of property income", specifies the DGI in its press release, stressing that taxpayers whose annual property income does not exceed 30,000 dirhams are also concerned by this measure.
The declaration and payment of the tax can be done on the SIMPL Teleservices platform of the DGI portal at tax.gov.ma. Guides indicating the procedure to follow are available on the same SIMPL Teleservices platform.
