Morocco Sees Surge in French Tourism, Outpacing Other North African Destinations

Classified as a top destination for the French, Morocco recorded strong growth this summer to the satisfaction of tour operators, members of the Syndicat des entreprises du tour-opérating (SETO).
According to the results of the barometer of the Syndicat des entreprises du tour-opérating (SETO), 1,378,722 clients traveled in the period from early May to late August 2022, reports TourMag. Compared to the same period last year, this represents an increase of 97.3%. In North Africa, Morocco made a leap with +388% of French tour operator clients behind and +597% in Tunisia.
In Europe, the market is largely dominated by Greece and its islands with 161,583 clients, up 47% compared to the previous summer, followed by Spain. The Balearics experienced a 95% increase in the number of clients (140,848) and the Canaries (+59%).
This trend will continue until the winter 2022-2023 season. The order book for the Middle East/North Africa region is driven by Morocco (+192%) and Egypt (+228%).
