Morocco Reports 71 COVID-19 Deaths in 24 Hours, Total Toll Nears 5,000

While active cases have declined, Morocco has recorded 71 deaths in the last 24 hours. Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic in March, 4,850 people have died in the Kingdom.
The Greater Casablanca-Settat region announces 19 deaths, including 18 deaths in Casablanca and 1 death in Settat. In Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 13 people succumbed to the coronavirus with 4 deaths in Salé, 3 in Rabat, 2 in Skhirate-Témara, 2 in Kénitra, 1 in Khémisset and 1 in Sidi Slimane.
The Oriental region has 8 deaths. Berkane reports 5 deaths against 3 in Oujda-Angad. Fès-Meknès also announces 8 deaths, including 3 in El Hajeb, 2 in Meknès, 2 in Taounate and 1 in Fès. The Tanger-Téouan-Al Hoceima region has 7 deaths with 2 deaths in Tétouan and Al Hoceima against 1 death in Tanger-Assilah, in M’Diq-Fnideq and in Chefchaouen.
In the Marrakech-Safi region, the Coronavirus caused 6 deaths with 5 deaths in Marrakech and 1 death in El Kelâa des Sraghna. It is followed by Beni Mellal-Khénifra which recorded 4 deaths, all in Khourigba.
In Souss-Massa, which has 3 deaths, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Taroudant and Tata each have 1 death. Guelmim-Oued Noun also reports 3 deaths, all in Guelmin. As for Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, it announces 2 deaths, all in Laâyoune, against 1 death recorded in Errachidia in the Darâa-Tafilalet region.
