Morocco's Regragui Pursues Lille Prodigy Bouaddi for AFCON Glory

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, would be working to convince Ayoub Bouaddi, the young prodigy of Lille, to represent Morocco in the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

According to some media sources, Walid Regragui should soon travel to Lille to meet again with Ayoub Bouaddi and his parents. The objective is to try to convince the 17-year-old player, who had requested some time to think, to join the den of the Atlas Lions.

The Moroccan coach wishes to obtain the agreement in principle of the young player that he wants to include in his plans for the 2025 AFCON scheduled in Morocco. Regragui seems convinced that Bouaddi has the necessary talent and experience to strengthen the Moroccan team’s midfield, alongside Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, Amir Richardson and Oussama El Azzouzi.

The Moroccan gem from Lille is among the nominees for the Kopa Trophy, rewarding the best player under 21 years old. He is competing with nine other talents including Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi from FC Barcelona, Désiré Doué from Paris Saint-Germain and Myles Lewis-Skelly from Arsenal.

Through this approach, Walid Regragui would try to cut the grass under the feet of the coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, who has also expressed interest in the Franco-Moroccan and wishes to integrate him into the French team.
