Morocco Recalls 30 Former Officials to Bolster COVID-19 Response Efforts

Faced with the difficulty of managing the Covid-19 pandemic in the kingdom, the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, had to rehabilitate 30 former governors, general secretaries, pashas and caids. They will have to work in provinces and prefectures where walis and governors are exhausted.
Among them is the former governor of the Hay Hassani prefecture, Hanane Tijani, reports Al Ahdath Al Magribia. She, who was unhappy not to have been appointed wali like her colleague Zineb El Adoui, will now work alongside the wali of the Casablanca-Settat region.
The former governor of the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture, Hassan Bouya, has been appointed to the wilaya of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima where he had worked as a pasha in the Beni Makada district in Tangier, then as governor.
Noureddine Atakla, former governor of Boulmane, dismissed for nearly a year, is back in business. He will be a support for the wilaya of Fès, Saïd Zniber, in managing the health crisis related to the coronavirus.
