Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline Project Advances to Engineering Study Phase

The Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project is progressing. The engineering study and preliminary design (FEED) should start by September, after the feasibility studies which are already completed.
This study will be carried out by large international groups, namely Intecsea BV and the Australian engineering company Worley on the one hand, and the German company ILF Consulting Engineers and Doris Group on the other, reports Hespress, citing sources from the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM). The MetOcean team of the British company RPS Group will be responsible for data collection for this mega-project, it is reported.
According to the detailed studies of the project, the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline will pass mainly under the sea. It should cross the Moroccan territory, from Dakhla to the Ouezzane region, and be connected to the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline (GME), the source adds, stating that ultimately the project should provide 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, of which 18 billion are exportable to Europe.
