Morocco Leads North Africa in COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts, 8 Million Doses Administered

A little more than two months after the launch of the vaccination campaign, Morocco has already carried out 8 million vaccinations. An exploit that leads the French magazine Le Point to write that the Kingdom "leads the dance" since the beginning of the pandemic, and that it continues to display "its know-how".
"From a health point of view, after having achieved self-sufficiency in protection in 2020 by manufacturing masks and then exporting them, the kingdom continues on its momentum by vaccinating at a high frequency," notes the media in its Lettre du Maghreb. The magazine indulged in a comparative study by emphasizing that between Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, there is a gap in terms of the number of people vaccinated. As of April 2, "the country claims 3.8 million Moroccans have received two doses and 4.3 million, one dose, compared to 53,000 in Tunisia and 75,000 in Algeria," the publication points out.
It is not for nothing that Morocco is ranked 6th in the world in terms of the share of the population that has received all the doses prescribed by the vaccination protocol according to the latest data compiled by "Our World in Data," a collaborative scientific data platform in partnership with the University of Oxford. "Faced with the international vaccine diplomacy, each country is playing its part. With 8 million vaccinations carried out, Morocco is leading the dance," the magazine asserts.
