Morocco’s Largest Bus Company CTM Reports 47% Revenue Drop Amid Pandemic Travel Restrictions

Like other Moroccan companies, the Compagnie de Transport au Maroc (CTM) has been heavily impacted by the coronavirus and travel bans during the health emergency period.
At the end of last September, the turnover of the CTM fell by 46.6%, i.e. an amount of 272 million DH. In the 3rd quarter, the turnover stood at 69 million DH, a decrease of 61.9%, bringing the turnover achieved at the end of September to 190 million DH, according to a CTM press release.
For the road carrier, the partial lifting of the lockdown, which should have favored road transport, was accompanied by restrictive measures on inter-city travel during the summer period and especially during Eid al-Adha. The same press release specifies that the activity of CTM Messagerie has slightly resumed in the third quarter in order to limit the decline in the group’s indicators.
