Morocco’s Land Registry Agency Reports 42% Revenue Surge to 8.1 Billion Dirhams

For the 2021 fiscal year, the National Agency for Land Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (ANCFCC) recorded solid performance, generating estimated revenue of 8.1 billion dirhams, up 42% compared to 2020 and 21% compared to 2019.
Despite the health crisis and the gloomy situation in the real estate sector, the ANCFCC has experienced significant increases in the issuance of land titles, registered area and revenue, according to a press release from the agency.
These financial results clearly place the Agency among the top contributors to the general state budget, with 3.3 billion DH in 2021 and 4 billion DH planned for this year, the note said.
In detail, land registration has accelerated strongly in recent years: 8.6 million hectares have been registered in 6 years and 2.2 million land titles have been created. This dynamic is particularly strong in rural areas, where an average of 175,000 land titles are created each year as part of the free overall land registration for rural populations (148 rural municipalities).
In addition, the year 2021 was marked by the completion of the digitization of the cadastre and land registry production processes. 1.6 million notarial formalities and 40,000 cadastral files are processed electronically, with secure electronic signatures and time-stamping of transactions and documents.
