Morocco’s King and Macron Discuss Libya Crisis Ahead of Berlin Summit

The King Mohammed VI had a telephone conversation yesterday, Saturday, January 18, with the French President, Emmanuel Macron. The Libyan crisis was on the agenda of the discussions.
The two heads of state discussed international issues and, more specifically, the situation in Libya, on the eve of the meeting scheduled in Berlin on January 19, according to a statement from the Royal Cabinet.
The Sovereign and the French President also discussed the important role played by the Kingdom since the onset of the crisis, the statement said. In this regard, Morocco’s sustained efforts to resolve the crisis have been recognized.
According to the same statement, these efforts have notably led to the signing of the Skhirat agreement, endorsed by the Security Council and supported by the international community.
