Morocco Introduces New Tire Tax for Imported Vehicles in 2021

Owners of more than two motorized vehicles will have to dig into their pockets in 2021. The new Finance Act 2021 indeed provides for a new tax on vehicle tires.
According to the 2021 Finance Act, a new tax will be applied on imported new tires, starting next January. The tax, estimated at 3 dirhams per kilogram, concerns both motorcycle and car tires.
Knowing that the new increase will be automatically passed on to the final consumer, two-wheeler users will be led to think twice before changing tires.
The 2021 Finance Bill has entered the legislative circuit. The Minister of Economy and Finance presented Friday in plenary session before the two chambers the main lines of the new project.
