Morocco’s Injury Woes Cast Shadow Over World Cup Semi-Final Against France

Morocco faces the semi-final against France with huge uncertainties about the availability of injured players. In a press conference on Tuesday, Walid Regragui appeared reassuring despite the situation.
"We have a lot of injured players, but we are recovering well, we have a high-level medical staff, every day brings good news," said the coach of the Atlas Lions. For him, there is no concern about the abilities of the players who will be lined up against France on Wednesday. "We will put the best possible team, with players at 100%," assures Walid Regragui.
However, Romain Saïss, injured during the match against Portugal, is not certain against the Blues. "I will do everything to be there," Saïss said after the quarter-final victory, "I want to help my team, but there are times when you have to be reasonable and not be a burden just for your personal pride."
The same goes for Nayef Aguerd who had already missed the quarter-final. Noussair Mazraoui was not in the lineup against Portugal, but would currently be ready. Achraf Hakimi is not fully recovered from his injury. For the moment, it is impossible to know the composition of the team that will face France on Wednesday at 8pm (Moroccan time) at the Al-Bayt stadium.
