Morocco Imposes Nightly Curfew as Ramadan Begins Amid COVID-19 Lockdown

The ban on all night-time movements, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., from the 1st of Ramadan, came into effect on Saturday, April 25, 2020. This decision by the Ministry of the Interior is part of the strengthening of the measures of the state of health emergency during the holy month.
It is strictly forbidden for citizens to move outside their homes or to be on public roads during this time slot, whether on foot or on board various means of transport, except for people working or working in vital and essential sectors and activities, a statement from the ministry said.
During the period of the night travel ban, exceptional travel authorizations issued by local authorities as well as travel authorizations for work, issued by the public and private sectors, will be suspended, the same source said.
However, the Ministry of the Interior has established and published the list of Moroccans authorized to circulate on an exceptional basis.
