Morocco to Implement Income Tax on Social Media Influencers

The delegate minister in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaâ, provided clarification on the taxation of income earned by influencers.
Responding to an opposition question on the subject, in parliament, the minister explained that content creators must be subject to income tax and that these social media enthusiasts will have to declare the earnings generated by their activity.
Instagrammers, YouTubers, TikTokers and other influencers will be subject to income tax, he announced, without specifying a date.
For the record, the parliamentary groups of the opposition parties, members of the Finance Committee, estimated that influencers should contribute to public charges, in accordance with Articles 39 and 40 of the constitution.
