Morocco Finalizes Plan to Gradually Lift COVID-19 Restrictions

Morocco could gradually lift the health restriction measures as some countries, including the United States and France, have already done. In this sense, a plan is being finalized.
According to sources cited by the newspaper Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the health authorities, in coordination with the other departments concerned, are finalizing their plan for a gradual lifting of the restrictive measures in force, for a progressive return to normal. It will be a question of the resumption of all economic activities, as well as the authorization of gatherings. However, this gradual return is subject to the extension of the health pass and a continuous decrease in Covid-19 infections and serious cases.
The extension of the health pass has already been agreed upon. The first extension of the health pass will concern gyms, hammams, cafes, restaurants and large shopping centers, then universities, vocational training schools, public hospitals, social institutions, theaters, cinemas and public transport. This measure aims in particular to encourage citizens to get vaccinated, the objective being to reach 55% of vaccinated people by the end of September.
