A young supporter who came to celebrate Morocco’s victory over the Netherlands was sentenced to 150 hours of community service. He had thrown a bag containing a heavy object at a police officer during the violence that occurred in The Hague.
After Morocco’s victory on penalties, hundreds of supporters had gathered in the Schilderswijk district. A small part of the group then threw stones and powerful fireworks at law enforcement officers.

Oussama B., aged 20 and residing in Delft, had explained that he had come to The Hague to “celebrate with other Moroccans.”
According to AD, he threw a white plastic bag containing a heavy object toward riot police on Vaillantlaan.

The projectile landed very close to an officer’s feet, and he managed to move out of the way in time. Three police officers identified the same suspect, who was wearing a gray tracksuit and had a Moroccan flag around his head and shoulders.
The young man himself confirmed this clothing during questioning, while remaining silent about throwing the bag. The court found the police officers’ testimonies sufficiently precise and consistent.
