Morocco Extends Tax Amnesty Deadline to August 31 for Voluntary Compliance

Initially scheduled to end on June 30, the voluntary regularization operation of the taxpayer’s tax situation, launched last January, has been extended until August 31.
Taxpayers who were unable to voluntarily regularize their tax situation by June 30 benefit, according to a decision by the Minister of Finance, from an extension of the deadline by two months, i.e. until August 31.
This measure concerns natural persons who have their tax domicile in Morocco, and whose income or profits come from a professional or agricultural activity, and who are not up to date with their tax obligations.
The regularization, which is a regime established on an exceptional basis by the 2020 Finance Act, is carried out by depositing liquid assets with a credit institution, and by filing a declaration.
The rate is set at 5% of the amount of liquid assets held in cash in the form of banknotes to be deposited with a bank, or of the amount of liquid assets already available in bank accounts.
