Morocco Extends Real Estate Tax Incentives Through June 2021

The Finance Committee of the first Chamber has just adopted two new measures as part of registration fees. Thus, the incentives for real estate developed in the 2020 Amending Finance Act are extended until June 2021.

Of the two provisions voted by the Finance Committee of the first Chamber, the first revolves around the extension of the advantage put in place in the 2020 Amending Finance Act on the registration fees for the purchase of real estate until 2021, the first measure of which has two components. Thus, for social housing worth 140,000 or 250,000 DH, the reduction of these fees will be maintained.

Similarly, for housing or land intended for residential use worth less than 2.5 MDH, for which the 2020 Finance Act had granted buyers a 50% reduction in registration fees, the reduction is also maintained until June 2021 and extended to properties worth up to 4 MDH, informs Médias24.

These measures aim to facilitate and encourage the purchase, in order to participate in the recovery of the sector by reducing the tax burden on buyers, in all segments. Still on registration fees, the reduction from 1% to 0.5% for the formation and increase of capital. But, for this amendment announced on Thursday, November 12, the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Benchaâboun, gave no details.
