Morocco Expels French Activist Attempting to Visit Imprisoned Sahrawi Husband

On Monday, July 8, 2019, in Morocco, Claude Mangin, a French human rights activist and wife of a Sahrawi activist, was sent back from Morocco. According to her, she is accused of wanting to visit her husband, who is currently in prison.
Arriving in Rabat in the afternoon of the Monday in question, Claude Mangin was immediately sent back. Her husband, Naama Asfari, an activist for the rights of the Sahrawis, was sentenced in 2011 to 30 years in prison by a military court, reports the website rfi.fr. He is incarcerated in the Kenitra prison.
For his wife, this fifth expulsion is incomprehensible. However, some time ago, after several months of negotiations, she had been allowed to see her husband, the same website notes.
