Morocco’s Egg Industry Booms: 6.6 Billion Eggs Produced, Meeting Domestic Demand and Boosting Exports

This production has made it possible to meet the entire needs of Moroccan consumers, said the vice-president of the association, Abdellatif Ezzaim, during a press conference, adding that the surplus was exported to African countries.
As for investments, they amounted to 3.4 billion dirhams for an estimated turnover of 8.6 billion dirhams, he added, allowing the sector to generate 23,000 direct jobs and about 34,000 indirect jobs mainly in distribution and marketing.
In addition, Moroccans consumed an average of 185 eggs last year compared to 138 in 2018, but this figure is still far behind the average of other countries in the region.
