Morocco Digitizes Property Tax Certificates, Streamlining Real Estate Transfers

As part of the modernization of administrative procedures, the Moroccan administration wants to focus on simplifying procedures and minimizing contact with too much paperwork. In this perspective, the General Treasury of the Kingdom (TGR) and the National Council of the National Order of Notaries of Morocco (CNONM) announced on Thursday the dematerialization of the certificate of payment of taxes and duties levied on the property being transferred.
In a joint press release, the two structures indicated that this approach allows the online filing of the request for the certificate. It justifies the payment of taxes and duties levied on the property being transferred, the exchange of necessary data and information for the processing and monitoring of said request as well as the delivery in electronic format of said certificate.
According to the same press release, this is the result of a real synergy between the CNONM and the TGR. It aims at the digitization of administrative procedures, the rapprochement of the administration with citizens and partners and the improvement of the quality of services provided to users.
