Morocco Cracks Down Turkish Customs Fraud Network
An investigation is currently targeting a network of companies linked to Turkish businessmen. These firms are suspected of massive customs fraud on goods transiting through the ports of Tangier Med and Casablanca.
Launched by the Monitoring and Risk Analysis Unit of the Customs Administration, this offensive targets companies operating under the cover of local entities. For the past two years, these importers allegedly artificially undervalued clothing and household items from Turkey on their invoices, in order to avoid paying standard import duties.
