Morocco Cancels Police Anniversary Celebrations Amid COVID-19 Restrictions

Initially scheduled for May 16, the commemoration of the anniversary of the creation of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has been canceled due to the exceptional circumstances facing Morocco.
These circumstances require the freezing and prohibition of any public activity and gathering and require the guarantee of full mobilization and maximum availability of the public forces, recalls the DGSN in a press release. It also aims to ensure compliance with the state of health emergency and fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
In the same vein, the DGSN has also canceled the 4th annual edition of the Open House Days of the National Security, scheduled this year in Fez.
Also, the festivities marking the anniversary of its creation will take place in the coming years, as this is a well-established tradition within the National Security family. An appointment imbued with a sense of citizenship, it is read.
Furthermore, the DGSN is also committed to organizing new editions of the National Security Open House Days, which constitute an opportunity for direct institutional communication with citizens and an annual renewed appointment to strengthen the ties between the population and the security forces.
