Morocco to Build Military Aircraft Maintenance Facility with US and Belgian Partners

In cooperation with the Belgian aerospace company Blue Berry and the American Lockheed Martin, a military plant will be built in Morocco to strengthen its defense industry.
The partnership signed in the presence of the Delegate Minister to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, aims to meet the needs of the Royal Air Force, and will develop a Moroccan joint venture Maintenance Aero Maroc (MAM), says a Bluberry press release.
A 15,000 m² maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade (MRO&U) center dedicated to military aircraft and helicopters at Benslimate airport is thus planned. 300 jobs are to be created.
Speaking on the occasion, Danya Trent, Vice President of Lockheed Martin, stated that Morocco will be equipped, under this cooperation, with the best possible industrial facilities, equipment, training and certifications to support the Royal Moroccan Air Force’s power maintenance needs as well as other clients.
Blueberry Group has "accumulated 50 years of experience in the maintenance, repair and upgrade of military aircraft such as C-130 and F-16, which allows it to offer high-quality power maintenance services for the Moroccan Air Force, and then quickly to other customers in the region," said CEO Stephan Burton.
