The Moroccan government is reluctant to accept the return of its seasonal workers currently in southern Spain. The reason? The risk of spreading the coronavirus.
Mass covid-19 screening tests. This is what the Andalusian government council plans in order for the Moroccan health authorities to validate the repatriation of 7,000 Moroccan seasonal workers.
According to the vice-president of the board of directors and tourism advisor, Juan Marín, the Andalusian government had informed the Moroccan government of its intention to screen thousands of Moroccan women who had worked in the province of Huelva. He specified that these women would return to Morocco after the screening test.
For the tourism advisor, Juan Marín, the arrangements are being made by the Andalusian government, in collaboration with the Moroccan ambassador in Spain, and especially the Minister of Agriculture, Luis Planas, to allow Moroccan nationals to return home.
