Morocco Begins Repatriation of Stranded Citizens from Belgium Amid Pandemic

The operation had been expected for several weeks. A first group of Moroccans stranded in Belgium was repatriated to Morocco on Tuesday. They landed at Agadir airport before being transferred to a hotel for quarantine.
150 Moroccan passengers returned to the country. Among them were sick and elderly people as well as children. This operation, coordinated by the Moroccan embassy in Belgium, is part of the repatriation program organized by the Kingdom.
The operation will continue until June 27, for the repatriation of 4,644 Moroccans stranded in 17 countries, in the context of the pandemic, in accordance with the announcement made on Monday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
