Morocco’s Atlas Lions to Face Sierra Leone in Final Friendly Before Africa Cup of Nations

The Atlas Lions will face Sierra Leone next week as part of a friendly match to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) to be held in Côte d’Ivoire this year.
After the canceled match on January 9 between Morocco and Gambia, Walid Regragui’s protégés will face Sierra Leone in a friendly match on Thursday, January 11 in San Pedro. According to a source from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), this match will certainly be the last preparation match for the Atlas Lions before the 2023 CAN.
The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire in five cities: Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouaké, Korhogo and San-Pedro, with 24 teams including Senegal, the defending champion and Morocco, the semi-finalist of the World Cup in Qatar, who will be the team to beat. Placed in Group F, the Atlas Lions will take the field on Wednesday, January 17. They will challenge Tanzania at the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro, before playing a new match against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, January 21, still at the same stadium and finally Zambia on Wednesday, January 24.
