Morocco Appears in a Mysterious U.S. Military File
Morocco is included in a new U.S. military license proposal worth at least $50 million. However, the equipment concerned, its manufacturer, and the share intended for the Royal Armed Forces remain confidential.
The U.S. Department of State transmitted to the Senate a certification concerning the export of defense articles and services to Morocco, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Congressional Record of July 29, 2026, this license proposal is registered under reference DDTC 25-132 and falls under Section 36(c) of the U.S. Arms Export Control Act.
The file concerns defense articles, as well as possible technical data and assistance services. However, the public document specifies neither the nature of the equipment concerned, nor the name of the U.S. company, nor their exact destination in each of the three countries.
Washington Keeps the Secret
The threshold of at least $50 million concerns the entire license involving Morocco, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. It therefore cannot be presented as the amount of an order placed solely by Rabat.
Nor does this procedure mean that the equipment has already been delivered. It corresponds to the prior authorization required for a direct commercial transaction between a U.S. company and foreign customers.
