Morocco and France Sign Agreement to Teach Arabic in French Public Schools

The agreement signed between Morocco and France on the teaching of the Arabic language was brought up at the Council of Government on Thursday. Chaired by Saad Dine El Othmani, the Council looked at the teaching of the Arabic language within the framework of International Foreign Language Teaching (EILE) in France.
According to the agreement signed on October 6, 2020 and presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, the Arabic language can be taught in French public schools.
The initiative will be done in partnership with the government of the Kingdom of Morocco, provided that it complies with the general principles of the French national education system. This is what the Minister of National Education, Government Spokesperson, Saaid Amzazi, declared in a press release following the Council.
